The good thing, if there is one, about being sick is that I don't feel well enough to do any cooking or cleaning or riding or shopping or laundry or ... well, I don't feel well enough to do much of anything.

Except read. When my aching head is under control, I can read. It's a good thing too, because we have a Harry Potter party to attend on Sunday and I wasn't ready. I hadn't read the last book. But now, I have. I have that usual "end of great book" funk that comes from knowing that you are going to be saying goodbye to some really great characters.

I really have a hard time believing we are saying goodbye to Harry Potter. But, it does seem like that is the case. However, this invitation:

You are hereby summoned to a Harry Potter party to give evidence that you have indeed read JK Rowling's 7 part masterpiece and do support "the boy who lived."

Come by floo powder, broom, or apparition.

Gather in the Great Hall for a feast - if you choose to bring a wizarding dish to share, please alert the head of house so as to avoid duplication, Bring questons of your own creation as part of the OWL and NEWT exams (for bonus points you may bring a parchment or give an oral report of your assessment of the septology)

Those truly brave at heart may enter the Triwizard tournament

Swim in the Hogwarts lake Both wizard and muggle attire are acceptable

You may respond by Owl post or e-owl.

An invitation like this keeps ones spirits up, in spite of the great loss! I believe we will be representing the Weasly family on Sunday. It fits, doesn't it?

I always loved the Weasleys best.

(I always wanted to like Snape too.)

What a great party idea! Harry Potty Parter. Harry Party Potter. don't drink too much butterbeer...

I plan to re-read the entire thing one o these days. It'll all make sense to me then, I hope, and alleviate that end-of-the-story blues.
